Crary Buchanan will commemorate the 10th anniversary of 9/11 with a blood drive in cooperation with Florida’s Blood Centers. The drive will remember those who died on that day by helping to save lives.
The law firm will host the drive Sept. 9, 10 and 11, at its offices at 759 S. Federal Highway, Stuart. Firm managing partner Mike Crary, is chairman of the drive; he has donated more than 6 gallons of blood in his lifetime.
“We should come together as a community on this important date,” Crary said. “One way is to give the gift of life through a blood donation.”
All blood collected will stay in Martin County to help people, including those receiving chemotherapy treatment, those undergoing emergency surgery and accident victims.
The drive begins at noon on Sept.9 with a ceremony attended by representatives from the Stuart fire department. Donations will be accepted Sept. 9 from noon to 8 p.m., Sept. 10 from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Sept. 11 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The goal for the second year is to break the Martin County record of 304 pints that the drive set in 2010.
Blood drive sponsors include Crary Buchanan, Seacoast National Bank, The Experts, Martin Memorial Health Systems, Morgan Stanley Smith Barney and Premier Party Rentals.
Crary Buchanan attorneys and staff led the 2010 blood drive on 9-11 that set a record for donations in Martin County.
