Linda L. Weiksnar of Crary Buchanan has received the St. Thomas More Award for 2011 from the Catholic Lawyers Guild. The award recognizes an attorney or judge from the Martin County legal community who exemplifies the ideals of service and sacrifice in the pursuit of justice as reflected in the life of the English lawyer and Judge Thomas More.
“I’m honored to receive this award,” said Weiksnar. “I believe that, as attorneys, we should use our gifts to help others. Knowing the caliber of the other nominees, I am humbled to have been chosen this year.”
Weiksnar is the second attorney from Crary Buchanan to be chosen for the award. Law firm partner Larry Crary received the award the first year it was presented.
Weiksnar was presented the award on Oct. 29 at a dinner following the annual Red Mass. The Red Mass is an annual event; this year, Bishop Barbarito officiated and asked God’s blessings on the members of the Treasure Coast legal community.
A dinner followed at Willoughby Country Club, at which time Ms. Weiksnar received the award. She was one of seven nominees from the Martin County legal community.
